Sleep well

Finding it difficult to get a good night’s sleep? Lie awake worrying or drop off, only to wake up again?

Join this practical and enjoyable course and learn how to

  • establish a good pre-sleep routine
  • switch off from busy thoughts and worries
  • use relaxation techniques to relax and sleep well.

This course runs over 4 or 5 weeks.Each week will build on the week before and introduce new ways to bring better sleep. As the course progresses, you will deepen your knowledge and develop personal strategies to bring lasting improvements to your sleep.  You will also find that the time in-between sessions, where you can practise what you have learnt, really makes a difference.

What will the course cover?

  • good sleep “hygiene”
  • removing negative thinking patterns that prevent sleep
  • dealing with worries and busy thoughts
  • a variety of relaxation techniques using the body, mind and breath

Is this course for me?

If you are having trouble sleeping, whether this is a fairly recent difficulty or an old pattern, this course will teach you a variety of practical ways to bring lasting improvements to your sleep. You will also find that the things you learn will benefit you in other areas of your life too, for example, in dealing with stressful situations.

To really gain the maximum from the course, you need to be prepared to attend each of the weekly classes and to practise in-between.

What style of course is it?

There will be a maximum of 10 participants. Activities will include some exercises that you are invited to do in pairs or small groups. Each class will also include at least two guided relaxation exercises where you are asked to make yourself comfortable either in a chair or lying on the floor with a mat and blanket.
